C.S Fred Matiangi’s convoy was attacked in Kawangware where he had gone to visit Gatina Primary School to assure the kids of security during KCPE examinations period.
The crowd was allegedly angered by the CS who failed to address them when he toured the area that was rocked by ugly scenes in alleged retaliatory attacks between rival gangs.
They then began chanting ” Matiangi Must Go” before resorting to stoning the motorcade forcing Police to lob teargas to disperse them.
Kawangware has been rocked by violence by rival groups after what is believed to be an attack by a group alleged to be Mungiki, several houses were burnt down as clashes escalated after the attacks.
Dr Fred Matiangi was with Inspector General Boinnet during the visit.
